Hi I'm Calliope


"My husband and I adopted a dog and she is a joy! We were sooo excited to pick out our first dog together! She is a Mastiff/Boxer mix and is 5-6 months old now.  Her name was Stella, however, we renamed her Calliope (Calli for short). We were told that she was found in a dumpster… how anyone could look in those pretty brown eyes and toss her away is incomprehensible to us.

My husband and I are from New Orleans and wanted to name her for something that reminds us of there – she’s named after a street in the French Quarter. Her favorite thing in the world is water – the first time we took her to the lake she bailed in without even hesitating…..and did NOT want to get out! LOL  

She loves when we turn on the sprinklers or the water hose….anything that has water….she tries to catch all the water in her mouth from the sprinklers and if she sees a puddle she immediately lays in it.  We recently got her a little plastic pool to play in and she sticks her entire head underwater….maybe we should have named her SCUBA?

She is such a happy dog and we love her very much! My parents have always had pure-bred dogs and now after seeing what a wonderful dog we have they have decided to adopt from now on!
